Lazarus Saturday Youth Participation Day
April 24 2021
Every year the youth of our parish set aside Lazarus Saturday as a day to get together and participate in the Divine Liturgy and activities as a group. It was wonderful for everyone to be able to celebrate this Holy Day together! The day started with everyone attending Lazarus Saturday Divine Liturgy.
After Divine Liturgy, they were shown how to make their own butter lamb for their paschal basket. Natalie Kapeluck-Nixon and John Stasko helped provide instruction and direction while the youth attempted to fill the lamb molds with the softened butter. Ultimately the youth prevailed and filled the molds!
The youth then helped fill "fire" and "police" survival kits with the help of Church School Teacher, Sue Leis. These helpful kits were then delivered by Fr. John Charest, Sue Leis & the youth to the Carnegie Fire & Police Station.
Thank you to everyone involved in helping to make this a very successful and rewarding day for all!
